My Son, my Inspiration, Elijah. I am a mother to a wonderful boy who has been an inspiration to who I am, and how my work is portrayed. His happy, giggling delights of childhood, the serious determination of discovery & wonderment. These are the things i want to remember forever. My hopes are to capture these fleeting moments that are often overlooked, of innocence, of all ages, that take your breath away.

To me, photography is not just the image displayed in a photograph, but more so, it is about inspiration and capturing those moments we all take for granted. It’s about the moments, whatever they may be….the first time a mother holds her child, a baby’s first tooth, a toddler’s irresistible pout, a tear shed over a fallen ice cream cone. And yes, sometimes the hysterical laughter over a fake sneeze or the shy smile of a child learning to trust.

Photography has always been one of my passions, and my passion along with this inspiration allows me to produce photographs that leave an emotional imprint of moments that are gone forever, but can be relived with just a glance. I’ve always been interested in the art of light and shadows, what makes an image timeless. It still amazes me that with the shutter of a lens – time stands still. Every dream, thought & emotion felt in that moment captured forever. In 2004 after the birth of my son, i turned my hobby into a business.

Being a mother I know how precious it is to see a photograph and be brought back to a time of love, joy, and excitement—moments that pass in the blink of an eye.

I know how precious each of these moments are. I also know how quickly time passes and the power of a photo. My favorite photograph is one of my son just a few days old. It’s a close-up of his perfect little body laying in his swing so peaceful and content. Every time I see that photo I am transported into that moment. All I can smell is “Fresh” baby skin and I remember how he stole my heart forever. I look at that photo every day and every day rejoice in the miracle of his birth. I have never looked at that photo without feeling that moment.

As a photographer I do not limit my talent to any particular subject.  I photograph all types of people and places; however, children are my true passion.

There is no child that I have photographed whose soul I couldn’t see through the depths of their eyes.  This amazing quality is what I strive to capture in my subjects.  My particular style as a photographer is whatever or wherever the moment takes us.  It constantly evolves with every client.  There are no limits when it comes to memories.  I am a natural light photojournalist.  I specialize in a relaxed and candid atmosphere.  Most of my experience is with infant, child and family portraiture, as this is where my passion lies.  Children are not forced into poses, rather they are captured as they play, explore, experiment, and enjoy their environment.  I strive to bring the most rewarding, unique and friendly experience to all my clients.

So, you see, a photograph is not merely a pretty image on paper. It’s an emotional imprint of moments that are gone forever, but that can be relived with just a glance~ for all the years to come.
